Pastor's Corner

March 2009

My dear members of Neabsco Baptist Church it is with great pride and pleasure that I write this letter to you. First I want you to know that it has been one of the greatest gifts God has given me. It is such a joy to Pastor and to share with you what God has continually blessed me and Sister Speights with. Through all of our 32 years of marriage we have had the great honor to share our love with each other and now with you. As your Pastor God has shown me the wonderful things He has in store for us. It is our destiny to be a blessing for the Lord and to be used of Him to bless his children through praise, worship and thanksgiving. I know that the Lord has and will continue to bless us as we move into the path that He has lain before us. My constant prayer is for your success and prosperity in all things that you do.

Since becoming your Pastor in October of 2007 Sister Speights and I have been in continued prayer and supplication to God through Jesus Christ that we will grow more and more in love and that we will work to further the wonderful blessing that God has ordained. I realize that some are thinking of what could have been if you had chosen another Pastor and First Lady, but my witness to you is that Sister Speights and I will work with you and for you so that your labor will not be in vain in the Lord. I have not had nor has Sister Speights had an incident that has brought great pain and suffering. I believe the reason is that our God is blessing this union of Church, First Lady and Pastor to glorify His Son and to grow his Kingdom.

As you know the theme God has given me is to “Build on the foundation of Jesus Christ”. One of the member added “The Church with a heart in the heart of the city building on the foundation of Jesus Christ”. This was an awesome tying together of the vision of Pastor Perry and the vision of Pastor Speights. I do want to keep the heart toward man and God and to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ as we build on His great gift of salvation to us.

We are growing spiritually, financially and numerically not because of me alone and Sister Speights, but because God is with us in all that we do and He will sustain us in all that we do as we move towards our destiny of living with the Lord Jesus Christ forever. Please keep Sister Speights and I in prayer as we labor with you to “Build on the foundation of Jesus Christ”, remembering that we are also the “Church with a heart in the heart of the city”.

I thank my Lord and Saviour for the privilege to serve you as Pastor and to bless you with a wonderful First Lady. May our paths continue to move as God directs and we will know greater success in the Lord. Thank you so much for your prayers and love. Be blessed my brothers and sister.
