OUTREACH MINISTRIES

Homeless Ministry

Vision Statement

Our vision is to support,  as led by the Holy Spirit, the spiritual, emotional and physical needs of the homeless. While sharing the gospel,  demonstrate through deed, not just words, and the love of Christ, to those whom society so often casts aside.

Mission Statement

Follow in the footsteps of our Lord and Savior; endeavor to carry the “good news” of salvation through Jesus Christ to those who are homeless in our community. To visit those “distressed” by the absence of a means to provide shelter for themselves, and carry a message of “hope” in Christ Jesus.

Description Of Responsibilities

Neabsco Baptist Church Homeless Ministry (NBCHM) is a teaching ministry to the local homeless community. NBCHM operates, primarily, outside of the Neabsco Baptist Church (NBC) facility and in the surrounding community. NBCHM presents the way of Christ, the joy in Christian living, advertises church ministries and conducts Christian functions in the community to promote a healthy local community and a community that is connected to it’s local Christian church(es).

NBCHM is made up of Neabsco Baptist Church (NBC) members who desire to “Build on the Foundation of Jesus Christ,” are committed to prayer and thanksgiving; and we believe that the Spirit of the Lord is upon us, because he has anointed us to preach the gospel to the poor; he have sent us to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised. For God shall deliver the needy when they cry, the poor also, and them that has no helper. God shall spare the poor and needy, and shall save the souls of the needy. We are focused on connecting those homeless who have become disconnected or do not fellowship at a local church body.

NBCHM members pledge pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep ourselves unspotted from the world. To faithfully visit the homeless shelters on the day and time appointed to us by them, to carry the word of God. To work with the homeless and officials to advance the Homeless Ministry in the interest of the Homeless, conveying always our role as ambassadors of Jesus Christ. To continually seek ways to better serve the homeless, that their awareness of a “caring God” might stimulate them to salvation through Jesus Christ. Support special events for the homeless through volunteering time or monetary donations. To “PRAY” regularly for the homeless, their family members, and the staff of the homeless facilities.

NBCHM members will demonstrate their love for God by how they interact with their immediate family; “to those persons of the household of faith;” and to people “outside of the arc of safety.” NBCHM members will seek to instill a love, trust, confidence in the present work of Christ Jesus, and a blessed hope of His return.

NBCHM will seek to develop an understanding of the relational love of God towards mankind and to develop a reciprocating love in mankind towards GOD: the Father/Christ Jesus/Holy Spirt.

NBCHM is established at the discretion of the Pastor and Church board, and by combined agreement may terminate the Ministry and/or alter any of its programs or membership.

Daily Manna from the 'Net [KJV] - Daily Manna from the 'Net for Thursday, December 31, 2009 [Mark 2:7-12]
Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only? And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts? Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk? But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,) I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house. And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion. Mark 2:7-12 KJV
