YOUNG ADULT MINISTRY

(Y.A.M.

Vision Statement

Our Vision is to enjoy the Fruits of God’s creation here on earth while we see the Gifts that are in His people, be manifested thru Good works. We want to break down denominational walls, religious traditions as well as see the Glory of God’s presence in His people. We want to continue to build on His Foundation because we are His People.

Mission Statement

The Young Adult Ministry of Neabsco Baptist Church are people that are striving to please God, who stand ready to witness to the people whom God would have to be saved, to strengthen, to encourage, to hold accountable and to share Gods Word with a Passion for Christ and Compassion for His people.

Description Of Responsibilities

To create an environment for Young Adults ages 19 – 39 to meet with their peers and elders to share and gain knowledge from the Bible as it relates to their lives.

To be role models for the Youth at Neabsco Baptist Church by showing them that we are committed to serving the Lord in everything that we do.

To step in and aid other Neabsco Ministries as they need help.

YAM Activities

Help The Homeless Walk – This is a 5k walk around the National Mall. The walk helps to raise money for the homeless. The walk takes place the third Saturday in November. After the walk we hand out bag lunches and toiletries to homeless men and women around DC. It’s a reward to us as we see God’s word fulfilled in our actions to those in need. This annual event has helped thousands of families in the Maryland, District of Columbia and Virginia areas.

Rebuilding Together – A program that helps to preserve homes for elderly and disabled individuals. This activity takes place in April.

Nursing Home Visits – One of the biggest blessings we have experienced is when we arrive to talk and sing or maybe even read a book to the residents, it's without a doubt we leave all the more blessed by the strength and wisdom that comes from the many faces we see.

Daily Manna from the 'Net [KJV] - Daily Manna from the 'Net for Thursday, December 31, 2009 [Mark 2:7-12]
Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only? And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts? Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk? But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,) I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house. And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion. Mark 2:7-12 KJV
